Specialist Background

Dr Nor Akmal Bahari is a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya, obtained in 2002. She completed specialist training in Ophthalmology at Hospital Selayang and Hospital Kuala Lumpur, followed by a Master of Ophthalmology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2012. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and received the CFFT Malaysia in 2017.

Her clinical interests include paediatric cataract, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, paediatric ocular trauma, refractive errors, amblyopia, lazy eye and allergic eye disease. She also has an interest in eye screening for paediatric patients with systemic and congenital anomalies. At Avisena Specialist Hospital 2, she provides specialist paediatric ophthalmology care addressing the eye and vision needs of children.
