Specialist Background

Holds a Medical Degree (MBBS) from Kerala University, India (1994) and a Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) from UKM (2004). He completed his neonatal attachment at Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) in February 2004 and Paediatric Cardiology at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in May 2004.

Dr Varughese Koshy was the Paediatric Clinic Specialist at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang in June 2004. He was made Paediatrician and Head of the Paediatric Unit at Hospital Banting the following year and was subsequently appointed as its Deputy Director (clinical).

With his extensive experience which includes 14 years of service at various Government Hospitals and a decade with AVISENA, Dr. Koshy possesses excellent clinical acumen in general paediatrics.

His outstanding contribution was recognised with the “Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang” award by the Selangor State Health Department in 1998 and 2003.

His area of expertise: eczema and allergies. He runs an allergy clinic every Wednesday afternoons to identify allergies in affected individuals using the skin prick test method.
