Specialist Background

Dr. Akmal Hisyam Bin Arshad is a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist with a strong foundation in women’s health and fertility care.

He graduated from the International Medical University in 2008 and completed his Master’s in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2016. To further enhance his expertise, he completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at Hospital Tengku Azizah in 2021 and is now recognized in the National Specialist Register (NSR) as a Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Specialist.

Dr. Akmal’s career milestones include being awarded the prestigious Young Gynaecologist Award by the Asian Oceana Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2024. As the former Head of the O&G Department at UiTM and Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah, he played a key role in planning and establishing UiTM’s fertility services.

His dedication extends to academia, research, and postgraduate supervision. He has published numerous articles in local and international journals, holds national and industrial research grants, and actively trains the next generation of fertility specialists.

With his extensive experience and compassionate care, Dr. Akmal is passionate about guiding women through all stages of reproductive health and fertility.
