Specialist Background

Dr. Akmal Zulayla Mohd Zahid is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Southampton in 1999, followed by the Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care in 2003 and MRCOG in 2006. She subsequently completed Advanced Hysteroscopic Surgery training and received her Certificate of Completion of Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the General Medical Council, United Kingdom, in 2010. She also completed a Fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery in 2018.

With a clinical focus on women’s health, Dr Zulayla provides Obstetrics & Gynaecology care at Avisena Specialist Hospital 2. Her postgraduate qualifications and training in reproductive healthcare, together with training in hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, form part of her professional background in women’s healthcare.
